William &, Mary 76, Howard 62

Quinn McDowell scored 24 points to lead William & Mary over Howard 76-62 on Wednesday night.
The Tribe (3-4) shot 51 percent from the field (26 of 51) while holding the Bison (2-6) to 33.3 percent shooting (21 of 63). William & Mary had held its four previous opponents to an average of 37.6 percent shooting.
Marcus Kitts and Tim Rusthoven added 10 points each for the Tribe, who outrebounded Howard 40-31.
William & Mary led 21-20 with 6:09 left in the first half and outscored the Bison 14-2 until the break. McDowell, who had seven points during the run, hit two free throws with 32 seconds left in the first half to give the Tribe a 35-22 halftime lead.
The Bison shot just 7 of 29 from the field in the first half (24.1 percent).
Anton Dickerson paced Howard with 28 points. Mike Phillips tallied 12 points and 10 rebounds and Dadrian Collins scored 14 points for the Bison.
