Matt Rum knocked down a 3-pointer in the final minutes to lift William & Mary over Gardner-Webb 56-55 on Friday night in the subregional round of the Legends Classic.

The Tribe (1-3) trailed 55-53 after a layup from Julian Boatner with 2:37 left to play pulled William & Mary to within two points.

After a turnover by Gardner-Webb forward Stefon Johnson, Rum nailed a shot from behind the arc to give the Tribe a 1-point lead, 56-55, with 1:39 remaining.
