Aaron Ellis converted a short jumper with 1.5 seconds remaining to lift Wichita State past Creighton 67-65 on Wednesday night.

The victory sets up Wichita State's game Saturday at Missouri State to determine the Missouri Valley champion.

The Shockers (24-6, 14-3) were led by J.T. Durley's 16 points and 14 from Joe Ragland.

The Bluejays (17-13, 9-8) had four players in double figures, including Antoine Young with 15 and Gregory Echenique with 14.

Neither team led by more than two in the final 11 minutes.

The Bluejays' Doug McDermott missed the front end of a one-and-one with 33.1 seconds remaining, and Wichita State held the ball for one shot. It came when Ragland drove the baseline and found Ellis by the basket for the winner.

McDermott got off a spinning 24-footer at the buzzer that hit the rim and fell off.
