Western Michigan rallies to beat Eastern Michigan 80-72

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) Drake LaMont scored a career-high 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds Saturday and Western Michigan rallied to beat Eastern Michigan 80-72 to remain in third place in the Mid-American Conference's west division.
Thomas Wilder added 23 points for the Broncos (18-11, 9-7), who shot 51.1 percent from the field and made 29 of 34 (85.percent) free throws.
Wilder made a layup and a 3-pointer in Western Michigan's opening 16-5 run and the Broncos never trailed. LaMont scored 10 points and the Broncos led 35-28 at halftime.
Raven Lee hit back-to-back 3-pointers and Karrington Ward added two more over the first eight-plus minutes of the second half as Eastern Michigan rallied to a 48-46 lead. LaMont put the Broncos back on top 55-54 with two free throws and a jumper and Western Michigan steadily pulled away.
Lee scored 26 for the Eagles (17-12, 6-10), Mike Talley added 18 and Anali Okoloji 13.
