Western Kentucky defeats Austin Peay 77-70

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) T.J. Price had 22 points, four rebounds and four assists to lead Western Kentucky to a 77-70 win over Austin Peay to start the season on Saturday.

Trency Jackson finished with 14 points and two steals and Chris Harrison-Docks added 13 points for Western Kentucky, each making two 3-pointers.

Chris Horton had 15 points, four rebounds and four blocks, and Chris Freeman finished with 13 points and six rebounds for Austin Peay. Khalil Davis added nine points, six rebounds and four assists. Josh Robinson made three 3-pointers and finished with 12 points.

Despite four first-half lead changes, Western Kentucky notched a 42-35 halftime lead. In the second half, Austin Peay came within 51-49 with 11:44 remaining in the game, but Price scored seven points during a 9-2 run to make it 60-51 with 7:28 left.
