Devin Ebanks had 14 points, 11 rebounds and four assists as West Virginia beat Rutgers 74-56 on Sunday. Da'Sean Butler, Wellington Smith and Alex Ruoff each had 12 points and Kevin Jones added 10 for the Mountaineers (19-8, 8-6 Big East Conference), who won their third straight and fourth in five games. Rutgers (10-17, 1-13), which lost for the 14th time in 15 games, got 15 points from Mike Rosario and 11 from Gregory Echenique, who also pulled down seven rebounds. The Mountaineers were in command from the start, taking early leads of 23-7 and 27-11 and leading 37-25 at the break. Rutgers tried to rally in the second half, eventually cutting the lead to 52-48. But West Virginia sealed the win with an 11-1 run late in the game. West Virginia also won the battle of the boards, outrebounding Rutgers 39-30.
