Wade saves Norfolk St. in 75-70 win over Delaware St. (Jan 16, 2017)

DOVER, Del. (AP) Jonathan Wade scored 20 points and Jordan Butler had 15 points and seven rebounds to lead Norfolk State past Delaware State 75-70 on Monday night.

Butler made a pair of free throws to give the Spartans a 61-48 lead. But the Hornets put together a 16-4 run and closed to 65-64 on Artem Tavakalyan's 3-pointer with 1:22 to go.

Wade responded with a 3 26 seconds later, and Norfolk State (5-13, 2-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic) shot 7 for 8 from the free throw line to put the game away. Zaynah Robinson made all six of his free throws in the last 38 seconds. Robinson scored 13 points and distributed 11 assists. Kerwin Okoro added 10 points.

The Spartans won for the first time on the road this season.

Devin Morgan led Delaware State (5-14, 2-2) with 16 points and DeAndre Haywood had 14 points for the Hornets. Delaware State missed 10 free throws (23-for-33) and shot 19-for-51 (37 percent) from the floor.
