A.J. Slaughter scored 11 points in the final 1:53 of overtime to lead Western Kentucky to a 78-76 victory against Arkansas State on Saturday night.
Slaughter scored 21 points for the Hilltoppers (17-12, 10-6 Sun Belt), 13 in the extra period. He made two 3-pointers in the last 46 seconds - the first tied the game at 74-74, and the second, with 19 seconds remaining, resulted in a 77-76 lead.
With six seconds left, Slaughter added a free throw, and a final shot by Arkansas State (15-12, 10-6) was unsuccessful.
Brandon Reed had 30 points for the Red Wolves, and Martavius Adams and Rashad Allison added 12 apiece.

Sergio Kerush scored 20 points for Western Kentucky.
