W. Carolina 69, DePaul 64

Harouna Mutumbo scored 15 points and Mike Williams added 13 as Western Carolina defeated DePaul 69-64 on Tuesday night.
Western Carolina (1-1) added to its 35-23 halftime lead when Mutumbo opened the second half with a three-point play and Brandon Boggs hit a 3-pointer on its next possession. Williams put the Catamounts ahead 46-25 on a 3-pointer with 16:31 left.
Mike Stovall's jumper cut the Western Carolina lead to 56-46 with 5:13 left. Then, after Richie Gordon made two free throws for Western Carolina, DePaul (1-1) went on a run that was capped by freshman Brandon Young's steal and layup to get DePaul within 58-53 with 3:43 left. Mutumbo answered with an uncontested layup, and Trey Sumler was 4-for-5 from the foul line inside the last two minutes to secure the victory for Western Carolina.
Young led DePaul with 16 points.
