KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Tennessee forward Dominic Woodson didn't dress for a 65-64 victory over Kansas State on Saturday after being excused from team activities this week to focus on academic obligations.
The school issued a statement before the game saying Woodson wouldn't play against Kansas State because of the missed practice time.
''He really needed some catch-up time,'' Tennessee coach Donnie Tyndall said after the game. ''We'll have more of an update on him as we get into final exams.''
Woodson, a 6-foot-10 sophomore, has averaged 3.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 12.0 minutes in his first season with Tennessee since transferring from Memphis.
