Villanova announced that junior forward Kris Jenkins is day-to-day with a sprained right knee.

Jenkins left Tuesday's 78- 48 win over Delaware in the first half.

“We’re relieved and thrilled for Kris that this is not as serious as we feared it might be last night,” Villanova head coach Jay Wright said in a statement. “Kris has worked extremely hard and is an important part of our frontcourt. Our Team Physician, Dr. Mike Duncan, and Head Athletic Trainer, Jeff Pierce, will continue to evaluate Kris’ progress as we look forward to a busy week when we return from Christmas break.”

The Wildcats benefit from a six-day layoff before the non-conference finale against Penn. If Jenkins is unable to go on Monday, Villanova could go a smaller lineup with Phil Booth starting in his place like he did against La Salle.

Jenkins is third on the team in scoring at 10.9 points per game.
