Bradford Burgess scored 19 points and set a Virginia Commonwealth school record for consecutive starts as the Rams won their sixth straight with an 80-68 win over UNC Greensboro on Thursday night.

With his 122nd straight start, Burgess eclipsed the record held by Michael Brown, who started every game from 1981-84.

Leading 45-43 with 14:17 to play, Virginia Commonwealth (9-3) went on a 16-4 run, capped by eight straight points by Rob Brandenberg, who finished with 17 points.

The Spartans (2-11) could get no closer than eight the rest of the way.

Juvonte Reddic added 15 points for the Rams.

Trevis Simpson scored 10 on 6-of-18 shooting to lead UNC Greensboro, which outrebounded Virginia Commonwealth 31-30.

The Rams, who came in leading the country in opponent's turnover rate at 28 percent, forced only 14 turnovers, resulting in 19 points, while committing 15 miscues that led to 14 Spartans points.
