VALPARAISO, Ind. (AP) LaVonte Dority scored 26 points as Valparaiso handed Green Bay, playing without 7-foot-1 center Alec Brown, its first Horizon League defeat of the season, 75-60, on Wednesday night.

The Phoenix had a 12-game winning streak snapped.

Brown, a senior who is the Phoenix's second-leading scorer and rebounder, missed the game with an injured left shoulder. It was a tough night all the way around for Green Bay (17-4, 7-1) with coach Brian Wardle injured after falling on the ice getting off the bus, though he didn't miss the game.

Without Brown, the Crusaders outscored the Phoenix by 10 points in the paint and had a 38-28 rebounding average. Valparaiso (13-10, 5-3) had the lead from the early moments with its largest lead of 26 coming at the 14:05 mark of the second half.
