Valparaiso 66, Loyola of Chicago 56

Valparaiso finished off its two-game Horizon League sweep of Chicago teams Saturday, defeating Loyola of Chicago 66-56.

Howard Little led the Crusaders with 16 points and seven rebounds.

Valparaiso (6-2, 2-0), which outlasted Illinois-Chicago 68-66 in overtime Thursday night, built a 34-28 lead by halftime against Loyola of Chicago.

The Crusaders' victory was No. 623 for coach Homer Drew, who is the seventh-winningest active coach in NCAA Division I. In 32 years of coaching, he's 623-417, including a 354-295 mark in 21 seasons with Valparaiso.

Loyola (7-2, 0-2), which holds a 32-11 lead in the all-time series, was led by Ben Averkamp with 11 points.
