Utah State beats Wayland Baptist 75-63

LOGAN, Utah (AP) Jalen Moore scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and David Collette added 14 points to lead Utah State past Wayland Baptist 75-63 Saturday night.

Sean Harris also added a career-high 10 points and eight rebounds for the Aggies (7-5). JoJo McGlaston added 12 in the final preseason game for USU.

Bunja Yaboe led the Pioneers with a career-high 20 points. Royal Crouch had 18 points and Ta'Quan McDew added 11.

After trailing by six at halftime, Wayland Baptist's Crouch made a jumper to get the Pioneers within 41-38 with 16 minutes to play. They were never able to get closer as Moore and Harris scored layups on consecutive possessions and USU stretched to 64-49 with 6:52 in the game.

Aggies Chris Smith and McGlaston combined for 5-of-7 shooting from the 3-point line.

USU held Wayland Baptist to 37 percent shooting from the field and outrebounded the visitors 37-35

The Pioneers never led in the first half, but Crouch twice tied the game, the second time at 17-all with 9:35 to play.

USU then went on a 14-3 run, sparked by Smith's 3-pointer, and took at 33-27 lead at halftime. USU's bench outscored Wayland Baptist 10-4 in the first half and 23-9 for the game.
