Tre'Von Willis scored 16 points as UNLV pulled away from Southern Utah 77-59 Tuesday night.
Chace Stanback added 15 points and Oscar Bellfield 10 as the Runnin' Rebels (8-1) bounced back from their only loss, having fallen 95-80 Saturday against Kansas State.
The Rebels led 31-30 at intermission and then, up 34-32 early in the second half, went on a 20-4 run to go ahead 54-36 and put the game away.
Davis Baker led all scorers with 21 points for the Thunderbirds (3-8), who lost their sixth in a row. Matt Hodgson had a game-high eight rebounds for Southern Utah.
Though UNLV was outrebounded 43-38, the Rebels forced 25 turnovers while committing only 10.
Southern Utah achieved its largest lead with 17:22 left in the first half when Hodgson's jump shot made it 8-2.
UNLV ran its record against Southern Utah to 19-0.
