A quick update on UNC recruit Sterling Manley and his decision to put the Tar Heels in his top four

The North Carolina Tar Heels basketball team just began their first practices for the upcoming 2016-17 season this week.

UNC is attempting to return to the Final Four and this time win it all as they have some unfinished business. As for the future, Head Coach Roy Williams brought in a top 10 recruiting class this season and he’s working on another one for 2017.

Part of that class could include power forward Sterling Manley, who was offered by Williams and the Tar Heels.

On Sunday, Manley officially announced his final four in his recruiting process via Twitter and included the Tar Heels:

Included on that list is also Purdue, Xavier and West Virginia. Manley not only trimmed his list this past week, but he’s visiting UNC very soon.

Manley will be in attendance for the annual “Late Night With Roy” event to unofficially kickoff the 2016-17 basketball season.

He will be one of numerous recruits on campus for the event as the basketball team will scrimmage and partake in some skits.

Getting Manley on campus after him putting the Tar Heels in his top four is huge. He’s quickly emerged as a big target for the Tar Heels and stock is certainly rising.

The Tar Heels already have two commits in the 2017 class in Jalek Felton and Andrew Platek, both guards. Adding Manley as a forward and still being in the running for P.J. Washington gives the Tar Heels a chance for another big recruiting class.
