UNC Asheville 66, Lenoir-Rhyne 55

Keith Hornsby hit four 3-pointers en route to 21 points and UNC Asheville held off Lenoir-Rhyne 66-55 Wednesday.
Jeremy Atkinson had 12 points and eight rebounds and D.J. Cunningham tallied 10 points and seven boards for the Bulldogs, who held a 39-37 rebounding edge. UNC Asheville shot 52.1 percent (25 of 48), compared to just 35.4 percent (23 of 65) for Lenoir Rhyne.
The Bulldogs (3-6) opened the game on a 16-9 run but watched Lenoir-Rhyne rally and take a 27-26 lead into halftime. The game remained tight over the first 13 minutes of the second half but Trent Myers hit a 3-pointer to break open a 42-all tie, sparking a 24-13 run for UNC Asheville over the final seven minutes.
Hornsby and Atkinson combined for 13 points during the stretch.
Allan Jones came off the bench for 12 points for Lenoir-Rhyne, which counted the game as an exhibition.
