UCLA Basketball: Practice Has Begun for the Men's and Women's Teams

You might not have known, but it is almost time for UCLA Basketball.
With the fervor of UCLA Football monopolizing the weekend, I bet you didn’t know about the UCLA Basketball teams starting practice in preparation for the 2016-17 season.
Both the Men’s and Women’s teams have hit the gym and are getting back into game mode, which will not be that hard to do. Back in August both Bruin squads were already gearing up for the season as they both had exhibition tours in Australia.
The women went 4-0 in their tour as they were led by Jordin Canada, Nicole Kornet, Monique Billings and Kari Korver. The Bruins are looking to build off of a 26-9 record which ended with a return to the NCAA Tournament. This season, the Bruins are looking to capture a Pac-12 title and move past the third round of the NCAA Tournament..

The men dropped one down under down under, but looked much improved from their 15-17 output from last season. With the addition of three elite freshman, the core of Bryce Alford, Isaac Hamilton and Thomas Welsh went 2-1, with a victory against professional Aussie team, the Brisbane Bullets.
But now it is time for the next edition of UCLA Basketball. Both Men’s and Women’s teams started their journey into 2016-17 this past weekend which means the season is just around the corner.
The men start their festivities on Tuesday, November 1 in an exhibition against Master’s University with the season officially beginning on Friday, November 11 against Pacific.
The women get things going with an exhibition against Westmont on Thursday, November 3 and start the season on Friday, November 11, also against Pacific.
Check out what both teams have been doing in the last few days as practice officially begins.
