Orlando Johnson scored 30 points to lead UC Santa Barbara to an 83-63 semifinal victory over Cal State Northridge in the Big West tournament on Friday night.
The victory sent the fifth-seeded Gauchos (17-13) into Saturday's championship game against No. 1 seed Long Beach State. It is a rematch of last year's Big West tournament final, won by Santa Barbara 69-64.
Lenny Daniel scored 16 points to lead No. 3-seeded Cal State Northridge, which beat the Gauchos twice during the regular season. But on Friday, the Matadors were dominated on the inside en route to trailing 40-19 at halftime.
Jaime Serna added 16 points and James Nunnally added 12 for UC Santa Barbara.
