UC Irvine dominates UC Riverside 70-52

IRVINE, Calif. (AP) Dominique Dunning, who just posted a career-high 11 points last Saturday, came off the bench to score a new career-high 20 points as UC Irvine dominated UC Riverside 70-52 Saturday night.

UC Irvine (17-9, 8-2 Big West) now sits alone atop the conference standings after UC Santa Barbara suffered an 80-78 overtime loss to Cal State Northridge Saturday. UC Santa Barbara fell to 7-3 in the conference standings.

Alex Young had 11 points and Chris McNealy added 10 for the Anteaters, who have now won 10 of their last 12 games.

UC Riverside (8-17, 3-8) trailed only 49-43 with 9:32 remaining in the game. Dunning made a three-point play to start a 13-2 run for a 62-45 lead with 4:21 remaining.

Taylor Johns had 12 points and Sam Finley added 11 for the Highlanders, who made only 28.6 percent of their field goal attempts.
