Five UC Irvine players scored in double figures Wednesday night and the Anteaters cruised to an easy 99-63 victory over Vanguard.
Daman Starring led the way with 19 points for UC Irvine (6-4), making 4 of 6 from 3-point range.
Chris McNealy had 16 points, Emil Kim 15, Derrick Strings 13 and Darren Moore 11 for the Anteaters. UC Irvine was 13 for 25 from 3-point range, 50 percent overall and its halftime total of 61 points nearly matched what Vanguard had at the game's end.
Vanguard, an NAIA school, was led by Drew Bruns with 12 points, all on 3-point shots - he was 4 for 6. Alex Chapman had 10 points for the Lions (1-8).
