Patrick Rembert scored nine of his 11 points in overtime to lead host UC Irvine to a 78-72 victory over UC Riverside on Saturday. Irvine guard Michael Hunter sank a three-pointer from the near-side wing with 28.7 seconds left in regulation to tie the score at 62-62 and send the game into overtime. Rembert opened the overtime by sinking consecutive three-pointers and a long jumper to give the Anteaters (11-18, 7-8 Big West) a 70-63 lead. Irvine outscored Riverside 16-10 in the overtime. Kyle Austin scored a game-high 24 points with 10 rebounds and Javon Borum had 20 points for the Highlanders (16-11, 7-7).
