Tulane holds off South Florida 67-63

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) Jay Hook scored 16 points, Jonathan Stark added 15 and Tulane clinched a 67-63 win over South Florida in the regular season finale on Saturday.

Payton Henson added 13 points to help lead Tulane to its second win in 12 games. The Green Wave (15-15, 6-12) will play in the American Athletic Conference tournament, which begins on Thursday.

Tulane ended the first half on an 11-2 run to take a 32-21 lead at the break, but USF answered at the start of the second with seven-straight points and hung within five the rest of the way. The Bulls got in front three separate times until Stark hit a jumper with 4:53 remaining to take the lead for good.

Troy Holston Jr. led USF (9-22, 3-15) with 21 points, Nehemias Morillo chipped in 16, and Anthony Collins had 10 rebounds. The 11th-seeded Bulls will play No. 6 seed UConn in the AAC tournament on Thursday.
