Kendall Simmons had 16 points, 13 rebounds and three steals to lead Tulane to a 63-52 win over Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday.

Tied at 50 with 7:09 to go, the Green Wave (5-2) limited the Ragin' Cajuns to only two points the rest of the game, holding them scoreless the final 6:14.

Louisiana-Lafayette (1-6) shot just 28.6 percent (8 of 28) from the field in the first half, but stayed within three points until the final 5 minutes until the break.

Tulane, which has won four of its last five games, shot 40 percent from the floor in the first half (12 of 30) to lead 29-21 at halftime.

Jordan Callahan added 13 points and David Booker and Ben Cherry had 10 each for the Green Wave, who shot 42.9 percent from the field (24 of 56) for the game.

J.J. Thomas led the Rajin' Cajuns with 16 points and Travis Bureau and David Perez scored 10 apiece.
