Vernon Taylor scored 22 points and Will Weathers had 19 as Troy knocked off North Texas 89-81 Saturday night to win two games in a row for the first time this season.

There were 10 ties and 13 lead changes in a rematch of the 2010 Sun Belt Conference Tournament title game that the Mean Green won 66-63.

Tied at 52, the Trojans (4-13, 2-3 Sun Belt Conference) went on a 13-0 run to take control, shooting 68.4 percent from the field in the second half (13 of 19).

North Texas (14-4, 3-2), which led 44-38 late in the first half, got within six on three occasions, the last at 84-78. Troy then hit 5 of 6 free throws.

Travis Lee added 13 points on 5-of-5 shooting for the Trojans, who beat Western Kentucky 82-68 Thursday.

Tristan Thompson's 25 points off the bench led the Mean Green and George Odufuwa had his 25th career double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
