Taylor Vernon scored 20 points and Troy defeated Western Kentucky 82-68 on Thursday night.
The Trojans (3-13, 1-3 Sun Belt Conference) used a 56-point second half to erase a 32-26 halftime deficit. Troy broke the game open in the second half with a 17-2 run for a 65-49 lead after Travis Lee's fourth 3-pointer of the game.
Will Weathers, who has scored 76 points in the past three games, added 17 points for the Trojans, who snapped a four-game losing streak. Lee had 12 and Levan Patsatsia scored 10.
The Trojans shot 58.6 percent (17 of 29) in the second half and finished at 39.1 percent (27 of 69). They also made 8 of 13 (61.5 percent) from 3-point range in the second half.
Sergio Kerusch led the Hilltoppers (5-10, 0-3), who have lost five in a row, with 24 points. Kahlil McDonald added 14 points, and Juan Pattillo and Steffphon Pettigrew each had 11.
