Justin Wright scored 18 points and Tim Owens grabbed 13 rebounds, both career highs, to lead Troy to a 73-60 nonconference victory over Miami (Ohio) on Saturday night.

The Trojans (4-3) shot better than 50 percent from 3-point range In each half. They made 8 of 15 in the first 20 minutes, when they led by as many as 23 points, 36-13, with 4:24 left, and they were 6 of 11 behind the arc in the second half.

Troy shot better from long distance than it did overall, making 44.8 percent (26 of 58) for the game.

The RedHawks (2-4) cut a 55-30 deficit to 58-49 with 8:43 left, but Troy answered with two baskets and two free throws by Will Weathers, who finished with 10 assists.

Julian Mavunga scored 24 points to lead Miami but was held to eight rebounds after coming in at 10.2 per game.
