J.B. Conley compiled 17 points and eight rebounds, and Tony Bishop and A.J. Stewart had 14 points each as Texas State opened its season with an 89-62 victory against Sul Ross State on Friday night.
Bishop had 10 rebounds. Cameron Johnson had 11 points for the Bobcats.
Jimmy Martinez had 17 points and Travis Johnson 14 for Sul Ross State, a Division III school in Alpine, Texas. The game was classified as an exhibition for the Lobos, who begin their regular season on Monday.
