Aaron Urbanus scored 12 points and Texas-Pan American held on to beat Oswego State 59-54 Tuesday night.

Jared Maree added 10 points for the Broncs (5-12), who snapped a four-game losing streak. UTPA led 33-23 at halftime before Oswego State mounted a comeback, tying it at 53 on Hayden Ward's free throws with 4:21 left.

Nick Weiermiller's layup 15 seconds later restored the Broncs' lead, and Maree and Weiermiller each made two free throws in the final minute to preserve the win.

Ward led Oswego State (9-2) with 18 points. Conor Monaghan scored 12 points and Chad Burridge had nine points and 10 rebounds.

The Lakers, a Division III program from upstate New York, had won nine straight. It was their first game against a Division I program since 1972.
