Perry Petty had 24 points and 10 rebounds Sunday night as Texas-Pan American defeated Victory University 101-94.
Ruben Cabrera scored 21 points, and his three-point play put the Broncs (3-6) ahead for good at 91-89 with 1:06 to play. Brandon Provost added 17 points and Aaron Urbanus 15 for UTPA, which had its biggest lead at the final buzzer.
Myron Strong led all scorers with 33 points for Victory. Strong was 12-of-26 from the field, including 6-of-12 from behind the 3-point line, and contributed 10 assists.
Mike Davis scored 19 points, Darryl Wright had 17 and Horace Dixon had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles (6-6), who led 47-46 at halftime and 64-54 with 15 minutes to play.
Victory is a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association. The school is in Memphis, Tenn.
