Texas A&M-Corpus Christi beats Furman 73-69

ELON, N.C. (AP) Brandon Pye scored 19 points with five 3-pointers and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi beat Furman 73-69 Thursday in the Battle 4 Atlantis regional tournament.

The Islanders (3-2) will face Mount St. Mary's on Friday and the Paladins (2-3) will take on Elon.

Rashawn Thomas scored 12 points, Bryce Douvier 11 and Jelani Currie 10 for the Islanders, who used a 13-4 run to take control of a seesaw first half and lead 29-27 at halftime.

The Paladins led briefly in the second half, then trailed 67-66 with 59 seconds left after Matt Rafferty's layup. Douvier was fouled by Devin Sibley and sank both free throws for a 69-66 lead and the Islanders held on.

Stephen Croone led Furman with 22 points, including 11 of 12 free throws, Rafferty finished with 16 and 10 rebounds, and Sibley scored 12.
