Tennessee Tech ekes out win over ETSU 63-61

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Ryan Martin scored 18 points, including a tie-breaking free throw with 44 seconds left, and Tennessee Tech eked out a 63-61 win over East Tennessee State on Wednesday night.

The teams were tied at 61 with 2:27 left, and neither scored another field goal. ETSU missed its last four shots - and three free-throw attempts - while Martin made 1 of 2 from the line to break the tie and Torrance Rowe made 1 of 2 with 22 seconds left.

Martin fueled an 11-point run with 5:33 to go to erase a 59-50 deficit and draw the Golden Eagles (6-2) back into the game.

Rowe finished with 11 points and four assists, and Martin grabbed 14 rebounds, his Division I career high.

T.J. Cromer led ETSU (3-4) with 15 points and Peter Jurkin added 10 points and seven boards.
