Robert Covington scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Tennessee State cruised to a 92-55 victory over LeMoyne-Owen on Monday night.

Covington, who also had three steals and two assists, scored 18 of his points in the first half, when the Tigers (6-6) shot 63.3 percent (19 of 30) to take a 49-28 lead into the break. They finished the game at 55.7 percent (34 of 61), their best of the season.

Jordan Cyphers scored 19 points for Tennessee State and made 5 of 10 shots from 3-point range.

Tennessee State dominated the inside, outrebounding the Magicians (4-2), a Division II team, 49-25 and outscoring them 41-22 inside the paint.

Kellen Thornton added 12 points for the Tigers and Wil Peters had seven assists.

Calvin Stoudemire scored 12 points to pace the Magicians, who shot 32.8 percent (19 of 58) for the game.
