Temple 79, Charlotte 57

Senior guard Ramone Moore pumped in 18 points as Temple hammered Charlotte 79-57 Wednesday night to earn the Owls' first win at Halton Arena.
Temple had lost its four previous meetings on Charlotte's home court, but left no doubt about this one.
The Owls (14-5, 3-2 Atlantic 10 Conference) jumped out to a 17-1 lead behind a pair of early 3-pointers from Moore. The 49ers missed their first 12 shots from the field. By halftime Temple had stretched its lead to 38-18 after shooting 50 percent from the field compared to Charlotte's 19 percent.
Temple's Aaron Brown added 16 points and Khalif Wyatt 12.
The Owls led by as many as 33 in the second half.
Javarris Bennett had 14 points to lead Charlotte (10-9, 2-4), which will be without starting freshman point guard Pierria Henry for at least two weeks after he sprained his left knee in practice Monday.
