Taylor scores 17 as Florida Atlantic wins 72-55

Raymond Taylor scored 17 points and Florida Atlantic defeated North Texas 72-55 Thursday night to snap the Mean Green's 17-game home winning streak.

Greg Gantt added 15 points and Dennis Mavin had 13 to help coach Mike Jarvis earn his 400th career victory. The Owls (17-7, 9-1 Sun Belt) have won nine of 10.

George Odufuwa had 11 points and 13 rebounds for while Kedrick Hogans scored a team-high 14 for the Mean Green (16-7, 5-5), who have lost three straight for the first time since 2008-09.

Florida Atlantic led 37-27 at halftime, but North Texas stayed close, cutting the deficit to three multiple times. The Owls finally pulled away with a 14-0 run to end the game.

Florida Atlantic scored 22 points off North Texas' 19 turnovers and outscored the Mean Green 38-20 in the paint.
