Stephen F. Austin runs away from Houston Baptist 102-87

HOUSTON (AP) Jacob Parker made 9 of 12 field goal attempts, including 7 of 8 from beyond the arc, for 30 points to lead Stephen F. Austin to a 102-87 win over Houston Baptist Saturday night.

Stephen F. Austin nailed 11 of 13 3-point attempts in the second half to break open a tight game. The Lumberjacks made 16 of 23 from long range (69.6 percent) for the game.

SFA led 50-41 at the break. Parker hit four treys early in the second half and the Lumberjacks were ahead 80-66 midway through the second period.

SFA (24-4, 14-1 Southland Conference), which has won four straight, stands alone atop the conference standings after Texas A&M-Corpus Christi upset Sam Houston State 61-59 on Saturday.

Jared Johnson and Thomas Walkup scored 13 apiece, Ty Charles added 12 and Demetrious Floyd had 11 for the Lumberjacks.

Colter Lasher led Houston Baptist (11-14, 6-9) with 28 points.
