Desmond Haymond led a balanced scoring effort with 24 points, including four 3-pointers, and Stephen F. Austin defeated Lubbock Christian 78-67 on Saturday night.
Three other players scored in double figures for Stephen F. Austin (6-1) -- Taylor Smith had 16, Antonio Bostic had 12 and Jacob Parker had 11. Parker also had eight rebounds.
Anthony Brancato led Lubbock Christian (6-4) with 20 points, including four 3-pointers. Jevvon Hunter chipped in with 11 points.
Stephen F. Austin had a 31-21 rebounding advantage and outscored Lubbock Christian 24-16 in the paint and had a 15-3 edge in second-chance points.
