St. Peter's comes back to beat Monmouth 61-50

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) Marvin Dominique scored 20 points as St. Peter's overcame a dreadful first half to beat Monmouth 61-50 on Sunday.
St. Peter's (9-14, 5-9 Metro Atlantic) made just 5 of 21 shots in the first half and turned the ball over eight times, but outscored Monmouth 45-20 after the break to win going away.
Monmouth (10-15, 4-10) trailed early, but took a 13-12 lead at 10:05 of the first on Zach Tillman's layup. The Hawks closed the half with a 17-4 run to lead 30-16 at intermission.
The Peacocks came out with renewed purpose after the break, with a 12-0 run - on four 3-pointers - erasing much of the deficit. St. Peter's tied the game at 37 with 8:34 left on Tyler Gaskins' trey and a 10-0 spurt later gave them the deciding edge.
Desi Washington added 17 points for St. Peter's. Andrew Nicholas led Monmouth with 18.
