Justin Brownlee scored 13 points and St. John's drubbed Drake 82-39 Friday night in the semifinals of the Carrs-Safeway Great Alaska Shootout.

The Red Storm (3-1) broke open a close game with full court pressure that forced 11 first-half turnovers. Drake (2-2) was shut out in the first half after the 10:15 mark while St. John's scored 23 straight points and led 45-17 at the break. St. John's shot 65 percent in the first half.

St. John's cooled off slightly in the second half but still shot 52 percent.

Brownlee finished 5-for-6 from the field. Dwight Hardy scored 11 and Sean Evans had 10 for the Red Storm. Malik Boothe had eight points and six assists.

Rayvonte Rice led the Bulldogs with 10 points. The 39 points established a tournament low, with the previous mark set by Idaho State in a 64-44 loss to Illinois in 1984.
