St. Francis (Pa.) 69, Fairleigh Dickinson 63

Scott Eatherton scored a career-high 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and St. Francis (Pa.) held off Fairleigh Dickinson 69-63 Saturday in Northeast Conference action.

The Red Flash (5-14, 4-4) shot 62.5 percent in the first half (15 of 24) and led by as many as 14 en route to a 40-28 lead at intermission.

St. Francis cooled off in the second half, shooting 33.3 percent (8 of 24), allowing the Knights (1-18, 0-8) to get to 52-47 with 8:10 left. Eatherton's four straight free throws pushed the lead back to nine.

After Fairleigh Dickinson again got within five with 4:14 to go, Eatherton's layup and two foul shots by Anthony Ervin, who finished with 15 points, stretched the Red Flash's lead.

Lonnie Robinson's 3-pointer with 13 seconds left made it 68-63, but the Knights ran out of time, losing their 16th straight.

Robinson led Fairleigh Dickinson with 15 points.
