Ben Mockford scored 22 points as St. Francis (NY) dominated throughout en route to a 79-60 rout of the New Jersey Institute of Technology Saturday in a nonconference game.

The victory was the first for the Terriers (1-4).

Mockford, a transfer from Iona, scored 18 of his points on six 3-point baskets in 10 attempts. Swingman Stefan Peruncic hit the only other 3-pointer for St. Francis and finished with six points.

Isaiah Wilkerson, the leading scorer for NJIT (2-3), led the Highlanders with 15 points. Chris Flores added 13 and Ryan Woods came off the bench to score 11.

St, Francis held a 38-27 halftime lead, then coasted in the second half, outscoring NJIT 41-33. Akeem Johnson had 19 points and six rebounds for St. Francis, which hit 50 percent (27 of 54) from the floor. The Terriers had a commanding 38-26 rebounding advantage.
