Southern roars past Grambling State, 104-54

GRAMBLING, La. (AP) Malcolm Miller pumped in 22 points as Southern humbled Grambling State, 104-54 Saturday night.

The Jaguars roared to a 55-29 lead at the half and throttled back only a little in the second, closing with a 49-25 run.

Miller connected on 8 of 11 shots from the field and was 6 of 9 from 3-point range while Southern shot 43 of 72 from the field as a team (59.7 percent).

YonDarius Johnson scored 16 points and Calvin Godfrey, Javan Mitchell and Tre Lynch each scored 14 for Southern (13-10, 9-1 SWAC). Meanwhile, the Jaguars took advantage of 15 steals and pounced on 18 turnovers by the Tigers.

Antwan Scott scored 11 points and Terry Rose added 10 to lead Grambling State (1-18, 0-10), which was just 18 of 53 from the field (34 percent) and 5 of 23 from long range.
