Sources: Ohio assistant set to return to Gardner-Webb

Ohio University assistant Chris Holtmann is set to return to
Gardner-Webb.
According to sources, an official announcement is expected
early this week.
Holtmann, 38, spent five seasons at the school under Rick
Scruggs — who was fired back in May after 15 years at the
helm.
Holtmann was hired by Ohio University coach John Groce two
years ago. The Bobcats went to the NCAA tournament this season and
knocked off Georgetown in the first round.
Gardner-Webb won 35 games in a two-year span in 2005-06 with
Holtmann, who was the associate head coach the last four seasons he
was at the school, on the staff.
Holtmann was selected from a group that included Belmont
assistant Casey Alexander, ex-Charlotte assistant Rob Moxley and
Virginia director of basketball operations Brad Soucie.
