Shaka Smart has signed a deal to remain at VCU.
Smart, 33, became the latest to spurn interest from N.C. State and then inked a new contract with the Rams on Monday afternoon, sources told FOXSports.com.
''He is staying,'' team spokesman Scott Day told the Associated Press.
Sources told FOXSports.com that Smart's new deal with VCU is an 8-year deal worth $1.2 million per year. That does not include bonuses.

Smart became a hot commodity after leading the Rams to an improbable Final Four berth – where they lost Saturday night to Butler in the national semifinals.
Sources told FOXSports.com that N.C. State offered a multi-year deal worth about $2 million per season.
