Papa Dia had 28 points and 10 rebounds Sunday night to lead SMU to a 102-70 victory over Lamar.

The victory gave the Mustangs (2-3) the title in the SMU tournament.

Dia was 10 of 13 from the field, and teammate Robert Nyakundi was 9 of 11 in scoring a career-high 23 points. The Mustangs shot 73.1 percent from the field in the game, establishing a school record.

Justin Haynes scored 13 points, Mike Walker 11 and Rodney Clinkscales 10 for the Mustangs, who had their first game with 100 points since 2000.

Kendrick Harris led Lamar (2-2) with 15 points. Brandon Davis added 13 and Orlando Brazier 12 for the Cardinals.

Dia, who had his first double-double of the season, scored 17 in the first half as SMU took a 54-38 lead.
