Jerome Jones scored 23 points and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville beat Eureka 77-74 Monday night.
Michael Messer's layup with 53 seconds to play put the Cougars in front to stay at 73-72. Jones made four free throws to complete the scoring.
Messer had 18 points and Tim Johnson scored 17 for the Cougars (3-6).
Dustin Fritsch led Eureka with 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting. He also had nine rebounds and five assists. Mark Lessen had 17 points and five assists, and Jordan Kindred scored 12 points.

The Division III Red Devils (3-6) stayed close by shooting 54 percent from the field and holding a 31-30 edge in rebounding. But the Cougars scored 30 points off of 19 Eureka turnovers.
