Jerome Jones scored 17 points and Mark Yelovich contributed 15 and grabbed eight rebounds en route to SIU-Edwardsville upending Jacksonville State 66-61 Saturday.

SIU-Edwardsville (4-10, 2-0) trailed 35-28 to start the second half, but engineered a 10-3 run coming out of halftime to tie the game at 38-all with 14:46 remaining. SIU-Edwardsville lost the lead twice after that, falling behind 57-53 with 3:40 remaining, but scored the next seven points, including a 3-pointer by Corey Wickware to take the lead. The Cougars finished the game on a 13-4 run.

Jacksonville State (5-10, 0-2) scored 21 points off of the Cougars' 17 turnovers and only turned the ball over eight times itself, but was undone by a lackluster second half that saw the team shoot 1 for 9 from 3-point range and get outscored 39-26. The Gamecocks were led in scoring by Nick Cook with 12 points.
