Seton Hall 79, Longwood 61

Senior guard Fuquan Edwin continued his fine season by scoring 19 points to lead Seton Hall to an easy 79-61 victory over Longwood on Wednesday night.
The win was the fourth in a row for the Pirates (9-2), while the Lancers (3-9) lost their second straight.
The Pirates took a 3-2 lead on a 3-pointer from Edwin and never looked back, breaking the game wide open on a 12-0 run late in the first half. Edwin scored nine of the 12 points during that five-minute span.
Besides Edwin, the Pirates got 13 points from Brian Oliver, who had tallied six points total in his previous three games, and 11 points and eight rebounds from freshman Kevin Johnson, almost doubling his seasonal output.
Longwood was led by Jeylani Dublin, who had 13 points.
With the score 23-18, the Pirates scored the next 12 points over a span of 5:14 to break the game wide open. The streak started with two free throws from Aaron Cosby and ended with a power drive from Edwin.
The Pirates took a 46-25 lead into intermission after a long 3-pointer from Oliver at the buzzer.
Seton Hall played tenacious defense through the first half, not allowing the Lancers to get open looks at the basket and limiting the Lancers to 34 percent from the floor (11 of 32). Seton Hall used both a 2-3 zone and a tough man-to-man to upset the Lancers' offensive rhythm.
The Pirates pushed the lead to 56-30 in the opening stages of the second half, with Edwin adding five points in the first three minutes after the break.
The Pirates led by as many as 33 before emptying the bench over the final 10 minutes. Johnson, who scored 12 points all season before Wednesday, had 11 second-half points, and walk-on Connor Laverty made his Seton Hall debut in the final two minutes.
