SE Missouri breezes past Jacksonville State 87-70

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) Tyler Stone scored 28 points and nabbed 9 rebounds and Southeast Missouri State pulled away from Jacksonville State in the second half, notching an 87-70 win on Thursday night.

Southeast Missouri State (14-13, 5-8 Ohio Valley Conference) shot 56 percent from the field while Nino Johnson assisted in the victory with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Stone kicked off the second period, scoring the first six points of the half, and the Redhawks opened a 54-38 lead three minutes in and never allowed Jacksonville to get closer than 12 points the remainder of the game. SE Missouri led by as many as 22 points with 30 seconds to play.

Jacksonville State (10-19, 4-10) led for much of the first half but SE Missouri finished strong and led 48-38 at intermission.

Darion Rackley scored 27 points for the Gamecocks, who have lost their last six games.
